Default Electrical Problem

Sometimes my battery will go all the way down to "8" for like 1 second. it just shoots down to it and comes back up. Whenever i hit a button, my headlights will dim and the battery needle will move down to 8 a little, just a tiny little. Im thinking its my alternator?

Fire it up and remove the ground wire from the battery, if the car dies it's the Alt, if not it's most likely the battery.
