I speak from experience when I say rwd + torque + inexperienced driver = telephone pole. If you trust her though then go ahead and get it. It also helps that she is a girl so she shouldn't have her her friends telling her to peel out and race people all the time. I really don't know that much about Camaro either but it sounds like a good deal.

Personally i would never buy a Chevy or let my son or daughter drive or buy one as well... I drove my friends 01 z28 6spd and i didnt like the way it drove at all, even tho it was fast as hell... But it does sound like a pretty good deal considering the condition, i would fix it up, sell it and buy her a mustang... But considering she's a girl and a new driver, should u be letting her drive a car with that much power and that bad gas mileage. I would buy her a nice sporty 4 cyl car that she will like. Maybe a Ford Probe, Prelude, Eclipse, Integra, Celica or something like that... Unless she is one of the few girls that are into cars and would appreciate a muscle car, but i still wouldnt want my daughter driving a chevy... just my 2 cents

like i've said before, it depends on the teenager, my first car was a 86 5.0, i loved it, i respected it, i learned its tendencies, I was in control(most of the time ) If you think your daughter is mature enough then a mustang is a great, fun car

I have to agree, I would not buy my daughter ( I have three of them) a car with that much horse, your asking for trouble. A car like that can and will get away from her. Please, listen to us and get her an escort or something. Or you can buy that hunk of **** they call a sports car and keep it for her until she gets a year of driving under her belt then give it to her.

get it for her, if it'll help you spend time together then do it. i wish my dad would spend time with me like that. if you 2 fix it up together, she'll have a everlasting memory of it and its just one of those things you won't ever forget about doing. it could be too much, just fix it to where the throttle can't be opened all the way lol. good luck on deciding!

She's 15, no license, not even a permit. Why does she need a car now?

Wait atleast until she has a permit to even consider buying a car. By then you might even find something better.

We have a limited budget, and we wanted to find something that needed some work. I have a year to work on it. This is something we want to do together. You guys are definitely giving me something to think about. She had a friend that was t-boned by a police officer a couple of months ago. That scared her, although she was not involved, it happened in front of her house. She loves cars, and I would love to find something as soon as we could so we could take our time. If I could find a Mustang for a similar price, I would buy it in heart beat. But I cant find anything local. The closest I came was finding a 91 GT, and the engine and tranny was out, the interior was out, all the body panels were loose, and the guy was firm on 2K, and it needed paint.
