I think it might be an "Air Charge Temperature Sensor".

Hmmmm, Air chage is usually in the air inlate tract, not the manifold.

ya i dont know what he is either talking bout or looking at, cuz i know where it is on explorers and it is in the lower manifold but i never seen it on a mustang intake.

OK i have a 5.0 manual I bought from 50resto that has all kinds of stuff in it. Looks like it's an air charge sensor, said that 87-93 had provisions for it, Guess that would explain why some have them and some don't.
