I started using the Royal Purple cause it was my only choice at the time, we'll see how that works out, lol!

Yeah, consumption. Did the oil level on the dipstick ever drop between oil changes--before switching to synthetic?

I heard it can be bad to switch from reg to syn. and viceversa (sp), but i just heard that, any truth to it at all ?

I just did a HCI and it should be done very very soon, within the next week i'm sayin, if my money situation goes as planned. I was also thinkin about going to synthetic, but didnt know if it would hurt or not.

This is my take on it: It will not hurt to switch from one type to the other...ever. How could it? I don't know why people say that it's bad to switch. The only risks are increased oil consumption and leaks, going from crude to syn. People say that syn. causes leaks because of its detergent properties, and the clearing away of crud that acts to seal gaskets. This may be the case, but I've seen leaks start from using synthetic, and then stop again after resuming the use of crude. I've also seen oil consumption increase, and then go back to normal under the same circumstances. There are NO risks going from syn. to crude. My assertions come from personal experience, anecdotal evidence attained through working as a bike mechanic for a few years, and tons of research. Take it or leave it.
