What stall converter should I put in my trany?
As for the trany it, is gone. A word on dicking with things I knew nothing about. Don't mess with the TV cable, just watch it do it's job.
As for all of the info you all gave me, just want to say thanks, and it was very accurate info. Now that I am having it rebuilt, what type of stall should I put in the trany and what else should I do. Motor is pretty much stock. 410 rear end. and just some other minor mods.
By the way, the oil did smell like sewage after it was already in the Sh.ter. I don't like that kind of TV cable. But I did learn a valuable lesson, at least valuable to the Trany shop. And if you are going to mess with the TV cable make sure it is the TV in the living room (Direct TV). and not the one under the throttle body on your car.
Thanks again

I messed with mine, pulled it back a little bit and it shifts better than ever. Chances are, it was getting ready to go out anyways. So what kind of internals are they putting in the tranny now? What was the cost? Anyways, for a good, affordable (depends on your definition I guess), custom torque converter go with Edge Racing. That's what I and a few others have and we love them. Good luck!

I dont know the details of what I'm getting put in yet. Just took the car to the shop today, it should be ready to roll in 2 weeks or less. The shop said they were going to put in a shift kit so it would shift better than before, and they are going to "beef up" it up by making it tougher< that is just what the guy told me, and they are going to put in a better torque converter. I will probably call them and find out what they had in mind just to make sure it isnt a scam.

wats up man..., i did the same thing but i got scammed..! the shop that rebuilt the tranny said they would beef it up to with heavy-duty clutches, suckie shift kit.., and they recomended a 1,900-2,100 stall witch is worthless.., anyways tranny went out 2 months after rebuild took it back they re-did the job and so far so good..!! i have a fairly stock 5.0 and im ganna buy a transgo shift-kit., witch i use to have( shifted better than the kit the shop put in!) and wanna get a 2,500-3,000 stall!! dont go lower than 2,500 and i dont know the shop that is doin the job but dont believe them when they say 2,500 is too much kuzz its not!! if i could do everything agian i would of took out the tranny myself,, took it too get the heavy duty rebuild, bring it home ,, install shift kit that comes with a video., and finally get a custom built TQ of your choice..,!!

Have them throw in a Lentech valve body and an Edge Racing stall, those two parts right there are about $780 though. Don't go less than 3000 rpms it's a waste, and make sure that you get a lockup style converter.

If I were you... I would call up Lentech and get a nice street/strip VB and a custom 3000 stall for your car. THAN I would call up Performance Automatic and buy one of their rebuild kits. Depending on how much cash you have you should be able to build a crazy auto trans for like 1500.
