Default Cam/Lifter question

i know this isn't a 5.0 question but my dad is restoring a 67 galaxie and slappin a 429ci in it. He wants to know if you can use hydraulic roller lifters with a stock hydraulic cam. I have no idea cuz i am retarded thanks all!

Nope
HYD flat tappet for HYD cam
HYD roller tappet for HYD roller cam
so on and so forth,besides you still need lifter guides for roller lifters.
Do a roller cam and lifter conversion many company's (CRANE) offers them

I think you mean "can you run roller lifters on a flat tappet cam?" That would be no. Also a tip on cam install. I've seen too many guys break in there cam wrong. When firing up a motor with a new cam the rpms must be raised to 2500 immediately. That gives the cam oil spash and tries to encourage the lifters to start spinning. (The cam is lubed mostly by oil spash). Just read the cam makers directions it'll be in there. I would always use a cam and lifter kit when using the flat tappet style. Never mix and match unknown cam and lifter parts of the flat tappet variety. Be paranoid, it sucks if you wipe a lobe off you "new" cam.

Unless it's a roller cam, those do not need the tradional break in
