Default stupid question

i know you guys are prob sick of me asking questions but i need to learn some how.......where do you fill the rear dif with fluid? i do not see a drain/fill flug on it. thanks....it's 8.8 rear 5.0 lx vert...its leaking and i want to top it off so i can drive to the shop tomorrow.

There is no drain, only a fill...it is on the top, passenger side(pretty sure) of the rear end housing.

nope, driver side, lol. and its a square fitting, we used the end of an extension on a ratchet, worked wonderfully... make sure u have somthing to pump it up into there tho, gonna be hard to fill it w. out something.

To drain the fluid you need to take the diff cover off. To refill it, there is a plug in front of the diff, beside the pinion.

o and ask ?s all u want... its what the forum is for, and yes to drain just take off all the bolts sept the top ones... itll drain out for ya that way... only wan we can do it w. ours... just curious whats the prob? you said a leak? is it the diff cover or an axle seal?

its the dif cover at the very bottom...i just bought the car and im already hacking into thanks to you guys. Anyway he gave me the gasket for it. im driving it to the family shop tomorrow...about 5-6 miles and i do not know how much fluid is in there i dont want to blow my gears. i tried to jack it up and get under there i found the fill plug but cant get to it owell we will find out tomorrow. Thanks

ur not paying to have it done are u? thats a very easy job, if ur gettin someone to do it dont... ill easily explain how to do that, and you will save yourself a good bit of money

no my uncle owns a three bay oil change center, im doing it my self there bcause he has lifts on the pits so i can stand underneath it. Im also gonna try and put my shruts in my self aswell as figure out my running hot and hesitation problem...gonna be a busy day. i just hope i get there without burnin the gears
