Default best blower

I know there are probably a lot of different opinions on this. What blower would be the best to use for my setup. D.S.S 306, standard compression, trick flow twisted wedge heads, Anderson B-41 cam, edelbrock performer Intake. I have heard many good things about the Paxton Novi 2000, so I have been looking at those. I was told my engine was built to support 18 psi worth of boost. So I want to boost that much. Best blower?

18 PSI of boots is really high..........I'd be carefull with that

I've also heard great things about the novi 2000, and procharger is a pretty good company too. Ken belle (sp) is pretty repitable too...

Basically what he said. I personally would like to get a kb one day. They are just so expensive.

You wont make it to 18psi without blowing that motor. I wouldnt even waste my money on a Novi 2000. I would go with a Novi 1000, upgrade to a 8' crank pulley and a Anderson Power Pipe. You will see about 9-11psi with that and be around 450rwhp. If you want to take it further than you can swap the blower pulley for more boost and see maybe in the 470-480rwhp range. You can get Novi 1000's into the 14psi range. I mean, if you have the cash than go for the 2000 but if you want a good budget blower I would stick with the 1000.

if you can go w/ the novi 2k, do it. PSI is not a true indication of how much air the blower is moving. CFM would be a true indication. The novi 1k may boost higher, but the 2k will move more air at the same PSI. in reality your blower is usually most efficient at lower boost levels. So with the novi 2k you would have less PSI, but would be moving more air. Dont let PSI be the ONLY thing you look at. Also with the 1k you will be out of the peak efficiency of the blower much sooner than with the 1k, so you would have more room to "grow into" the 2k. just my .02

I thought D.S.S blocks were just stock blocks. If they are I would get a novi 1000 instead of the novi 2000.

i agree just read an article in one of the mustang mags about boost not being the main factor in power output. and from other articles it seems like the kenne bell is a great blower.

from what i have heard the novi 2000 is a track blower, for serious drag cars. If your car is gonna see alot of track time then go with the 2000

really? you know they tested them in mm and ff as a comparison test. but they were on the 4.6 engines so that would probably make a big difference.i probably should have mentioned that. [sm=sorry.gif]
