last night i noticed a weird scraping sound coming from the rear end and i jacked it up and noticed that my axles move in and out about 1/4 of an inch. The right side has more play than the left. does this mean my rear end is crapping out on me or is a little movement normal?

 

Thats pretty normal. The more play the more the traction lock clutches are worn out. I would look a t your break for the scraping sound. A spring probably just snapped or the shoes are getting worn most likely.
