My buddy wants to change is dash on his 88 lx. Is the VIN tag connected to the dash or what? Will we have to drill the rivits and put the VIN on the new dash? Does anybody know if thats legal? Thanks

The tag is riveted to a little plate that is connected to the firewall. Its a good time to clean it up (if its dingy) and straighten it out.

sorry about that you were too quick, I meant +1 on the vin is attached to the firewall and you can clean it up after the dash is out.

goodl luck with the dash swap... why dont you guys change out your heater cores while everything is out... might save you some time later
