yea but that sez it will lower my car an inch... ok in my eyes, not know much about suspension, that would be bad seeing as it is rubbing being as low as it is. Why would I want it even lower? Woundn't that just make it scrape ezier? I'm sure ur rite I am just confused.
stop asking so many questions and just roll with it. you NEED to hammer in the pinch weld out back on that car... you NEED to replace your upper and lower control arms, you NEED to remove your quad shocks, and you NEED to buy that suspension kit. (it barely lowers the car)

Stock suspension and 275's out back

Even though the cars stance is 1" lower the springs are stiffer so your car will have less bounce and a more firm ride. Adder is right your stock shocks are most likley worn and are causing your differential to sway from side to side too much, getting new shocks and control arms will correct that and help you grab the road better... sorry if im not making alot of sense tonight, working 10 hours after gettting obliterated the night before kinda wears on your linguistics...[8D]

oh okay.

Adder what size are those rims and what's the backspacing on them? Do the 315s stick out or are they flush with the fender?

they are 17x9 front - 275/40/17 and 17x10.5 rear - 315/35/17. I actually have no clue what the back spacing is, i didnt order them per backspacing...

and they dont stick out at all

hey adder how do you figure a thinner tire will grip better?
ORIGINAL: AdderMk2

i had to bang in the pinch welds on my car in the back to fit my 315's. but i have a feeling your wheels just have thw wrong backspacing

you should change out to a 275/50/15, youll get better grip with the thinner tire believe it or not

a thinner tire grips better on cars that shouldn't have 315's on it. if your not running at least 500rwhp you have no reason to go bigger than 275... its just too much rubber.

You would think that a stock-ish mustang would have problems spinning 315 wide tires, right? not my car...

I tested the theory at my local track. I ran my 315's vs my 275's.... same tires Sumitomo HTRz's... i had a 2.1 second 60' on the 275's (my suspension is NOT set for drag racing), and a 2.4s 60' on the 315's

the thing you have to keep in mind is that when you put down a wider tire, you spread the weight across a wider surface, therby lowering the weight on the contact surface per inch.

imaging having a 1x1x1 square cube and you put 50 lbs on it... you have a downward force of 50PSI
now take that same cube and put another next to it... the same 50lbs on top of both, you know have 25psi on each cube.... so you would be able to move the object easier due to lack of friction. Same thing works with tires, wider is not always better.
