Default 600rwhp....

Ok, so I've got all winter, and some pocket change, I want 600whp, what's the best way to get there? READ THAT, I didn't say CHEAPEST, I said, best, like a compromise, I'd take reliability OVER cost, because it costs more to do it twice than right the first time.

Anywho...most of my mods are in my sig, I'm considering boost/spray, but not sure what route I should take.

This is my summer/weekend car, just to let you know.

Should I stick with the 302? What's the difference between the 306? Some guy is offering one local?

Also, I've heard about a 408? Is that still a small block and will it bolt to my T5 and drop in just the same?

I guess personally I'd rather have more cubes/more NA power, than a stock motor w/ a big turbo, ya know?

Thanks guys for any and all help.

408 would be the best, stock blocks are cheaper than aftermarket and a 302 wont take 600 horse for long. a 351 will take that fairly easily. also w/ more cubes it will be easier to hit 600. build a 408 and then pick your poison as far as power adders

Personally i would go with a 408, nice HCI combo, and a procharger at around 10 PSI. You should be close with that set up. A 302 will not hold up to this kind of power level, and you may even want to go with an aftermarket 351 block. And yes, a 351 block will bolt up to your t-5 but the t5 probably wont last long. As far as a 352 in a fox goes there is a section dedicated to the swap and will tell you everything you need to do it

Id drop a 351 in there and use most of your parts, the ones that are interchangable and then put on a blower. You should be close...

I've got a newer, (1y/o) world class T5, the superduty whatever, I thought it was beefier?

And where would I find info on a 408? Where to buy, etc?

And can I use any old 351w? Like even the ones out of the old ford econoline vans?

I'm not possitive on 351 year, but i'm pretty sure the older ones are stronger. Not too sure what a worldclass t5 can handle, but i'm sure its better than stock.
I think you can get a 408 strocker kit for a 351, but yet again, not totally possitive, sorry for the indirect answers.

I didnt see that is your sig, i dont really know much about manual trannies, but you can buy a 408 kti from summit or jegs. I am gonna get mine from fullauto, he is a sponser on this site and offers really good pricing and advise. Yes you can use any 351 block as long as its a windsor. If its a 94 and down block you will probably want to convert it to a roller block for 600 hp though

to ans your 06 question. no diff... just got bored out a little during a rebuild... nothing to brag about, same peformance as a 302.

and yes id say stroke a 357, outa anything, yes a van is ok, concidering your just using the block... anyway... i say stroke that... get a good h/c/i kit and then super charge it... that should have ya close... if its not all the way there w. that then spray it some

and as for your trans ?... id get rid of that t5... she wont lastlong... alotta them break under stock 302 power, like mine for example.... get a tko... if $ allows it anyway.

and also... when you/if you build w.e. motor you build... for 600rwhp... you better use some strong *** internals...i dont know if the stock 357 pieces are strong enough(might be, but i wouldnt be suprised if they werent)

either way, g/l
