my tko's 1st is very tight...since brand new...also are we saying at a stop or rolling? cause rolling at certain speeds most tranny won't let ya anyways....also clutches when wearing respond different to rpm speeds and pedal engagement...my bronco's 5.37 1st gear only engages at mid point.
Hey Grab. I'm talking about the feel of the shifter going into first, while at a complete stop.

Mine does it to...most of the time it notches in, but sometimes it just slides in. Usually when that happens I always take it out of first because I'm like "hmm." But now I realize it's just the car.

Haha...I was thinking about this today too, because first slid in at a stoplight. I wonder what it is?

I think so too. It's just that it used to do that (first gear feeling funny sometimes) even before I had the clutch replaced. Then I had everything replaced, and still, going into first feels the same with the new clutch as it did with the old one--sometimes smooth and sometimes notchy. How perplexing!

I mean, I assume it's just that sometimes the synchros/gears line up right, and sometimes they don't. I have no problem with it if it's normal. I can't wait till I can afford to replace my whole drivetrain!

mines never the same either...some times it won't go in but i've found if I lift off the clutch a little it slides right it, the same thing happens with reverse.

...put your tranny into first gear? I ask because mine feels different from one time to the next. Sometimes it falls right in, and sometimes it notches in. Anyone else's tranny do this? I've asked this question before, but since we have so many new members, I thought I'd ask again.

By the way, I saw the T5 thread, but I want a concentration of answers to my punk-*** self!

+1 on a babied T-5, sometimes it would slid in but i think thats because i would maybe do something like pushing it into 2nd before shifting into 1st
