RE: my multiple coils idea
multiple relies in one here:
to 5.0 stranger YES one coil per cylinder like your expedition!
to mattdel, ahhh here is my problem I'm a fiddler on a roof with your words. I LOVE old cars their simplicity, ease to work on basicness. Newer cars are comptuorised comlicated expensive.......but efficient???? I HAVE to find a happy medium somewhere. Only a computor could handle multiple coils OR if the vehicle has even a primitive computor in it, will the computor need to be programmed for multi coils??? i just have to find a way!
but sadly to ADDERMK2 correct me if I'm wrong here but I just cannot help but tobe offended by your words "we dont need to get into this too far" why not??? where is what is the problem??? You say its been done (a multiple coil application)
so sorry to busrt my bubble. you have not busrt anything, in fact I am encouraged to pursue further! There are applications out there, I simply have to study. I own 3 vehicles: a 1985 dodge pick up (318), my beloved 1982 ford wagon (302 engine), and my problem child my poor little 1982 cougar wgon with a SMOKY 200 cube in line six. The big old wagon acheievd nearly 21 miles per gallon as is. OHH GOD what a high if i concocted a multi coil system on it and I got how much better performance out of it AND GAS MILEAGE.....MY IMAGINATION GOES WILD!!! So on ione hand I dont believe your words are very warranted ON ANOTHER HAND there is specific info regarding coils i was hoping to find here. That didnt happen, PERHAPS I can let it go for here.

RE: my multiple coils idea
Yeah everyone has ideas/plans and it seems 35% of them happen give or take, hell I never even mentioned on the board what happened to my pushrods...[:-]...but it's long been fixed...

RE: my multiple coils idea
im not even going to bother with this thread anymore. its not going to be some big revelation if this guy manages to use coilpacks for an ignition soruce on his car.
In fact, i have all the parts he needs, sitting in a box in my garage.
hes just another dreamer who isnt going to get anywhere...
