Default 5.0 rebuild

I'm rebuilding my 5.0 and was told to use a E303 cam. I was wondering what the advantages are. any help would be appreciated.

1--Get different heads than stock or port your E7's. You won't see much gain from a cam otherwise.
2--The TFS stage 1 cam has a split lift and duration that is just a little higher on the exhaust side and should make a little more power.
3--What is the rest of your combo?

The E cam is okay...that's what I'm running. You can get more from a cam that allows the exhaust to flow a little better. This also depends on the heads you choose as bigger valves on the exhaust side would not need more lift on the exh side.

I haven't thought much about heads yet, but I know I want aluminum ones. Any suggestions?

go Edelbrock if its a street car. I would go Holley if you are going track car. At least thats what I would do. I know alot of people here will say TF street or wedge heads or AFR's as well though.

what are your plans/hopes for this car then ill give you my opinion. the e-303 is ok, but id choose the b-303 over the e, it produces more then the e, tfs1 is a good cam but if your going to go with aftermarket heads or port your stock heads you dont need a split lift & duration because the porting will make-up for it. post what your combo is going to be, or what you currently have. now as for aluminum heads, yea there great if you can afford them, but make sure atleast every 2 months that your waterpump is flowing really good, or your going to warp the heads. dont listen to anybody that talks about weight, because for 50lbs of weight it takes 2 1/2 hp to make up for it. go with what you want, and what you like afterall its your car.

GT40's would be a cheap, easy upgrade. I like the TW's, but don't have the $ for them right now.

Default stroker build

OK I decided on a 347 stroker kit with an E303 cam and gt 40 heads. Does this sound like a good set up or am I off on the cam and heads. Most important to me is the stroker kit. Any help building around that would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
