I would just switch to a t5. Depending on what you do to your aod it would be cheaper to swap over to a t5. I'm thinking about doing it myself this winter.
Not true, the time and labor that are involved go WAY over what you could get a good torque converter and valve body for.
Well, a 3000 stall from edge is $500 and the lentech Street Terminator valve body is $480. That's $980 and then with shipping it will be atleast $1000. Then if you have to rebuild it (I would because mine has high miles) there was a link posted the other day for an aod rebuild kit that was $265. That's almost $1300. After that you might want to get the b&m hammer shifter and that's another $200, although it's not really necessary.


If you know how to look you could get a complete t5 swap for cheaper then that. And doing it yourself is free.

well i might go with a t-5 my friends dad owns a wrecking yard and he daid he'll give me a clutch that in good shape outa 2005 that smoked a transport that fits and he got everything toogether expet the clutch cab'e and pedal he said bell houseing,tranny good shape rebuild it to handle 400+ rw power and the clutch, clutch fork, pivots bearings and he said all u'll have to do is buy a cable and pedal and ur set he said $600for it all and thats canadian lol eh how aboot that lol jk

an aod can hold 600hp if built right.

to have a trans brake you have to have a full manual valve body and no matter how well the aod is built, it wont handle a trans brake. it just puts way to much stress on an aod
