Default automatic tansmission

hi i was thinking of get a t-5 but what can i use to launch an automatic i hear of this 2-step and trans break what r they how do they work and do they f*ck ur tranny

trans brake is just that. a trans brake. allows you to "brake" your driveline while at we'll say, 2300 rpm, release brake on green and GO

so like whats it do where do u install it and is it like a hand brake and is it like a clutch between the tranny and drive shaft or what

No, i believe it is a special valvebody. When engaged it holds the tranny in either 1st and reverse, or 3rd and reverse. i cant remember. Either way that effectively "brakes" your transmission until you release it, and launch off the line. You dont use it in everyday driving

ya but is it like a switch or is it a handle and deos it mess the hell outa ur tanny if so i might go and buy a t-5 five but funds r short and i got 3 autos laying around because everybody and there bro uses my garuge at my parents garuge my friends show up in there rice i need to to do this or that or check **** or take it out for a spin to see if there clutch if there clutch is adjusted right like ive hade my friend get his honda civic and he wants a fox but he driveing a 5 speed civic and with in the frist 6 to 8months his clutch was out the window

I would just switch to a t5. Depending on what you do to your aod it would be cheaper to swap over to a t5. I'm thinking about doing it myself this winter.

Not true, the time and labor that are involved go WAY over what you could get a good torque converter and valve body for.

lets not forget that your stock aod wont hold for long. its barely strong enough for the stock motor. i know. i blew 3 of 'em in my 87. as long as your thinking of launching that hard, you might want to consider a very strong tranny
