Bump that **** up! There's a good difference in power between 10 and 14 degrees, SOTP difference actually. I'm running 16 degrees base timing with 91 octane.

So my dad is completely against me bumping the timing, he says it will ping

rule of thumb is, dont take the advice of some one who doesnt know what they are talking about. sure it will ping if you go crazy with the timing but a couple degrees wont ping at all

i would set it to around 10 or 11, you can set it higher with the higher octane i run premium and im getting ready to set mine around 12 or so, but you can def. hold higher without pinging. just remember to disconnect the computer, you dont want to just move around the distributor, you want to set the original timing for when you start the car that way when you hit the gas it will self advance it more and then retard itself when you let off and the rpm's come back down.

10 or 11.... geez. stock is 10

wow.. 12 is alot ... im running 15°

with 12° timing you can still run 87, you MIGHT have to run 89.... but 93 is WAY overkill on stock timing
