Default exhaust

If i was to cut off the mufflers and weld in turn downs how would it affect an 87 Mustang GT? would it cause any problems and how long would it take to make the problem? would i lose or gain HP or torque ?

mght have added like 5 hp and it might burn the valve seals out after awhile but they should be fine as long as theres headers and cats on there or no cat as long as u got alil compression ur valve seals should be fine
