oil pressure

put in my new motor. but at idle i have no oil pressure. the gauge jumps around so i think i jacked it up while the motor was out of the car. i accidently pulled the wire from the unit and later pushed it back in. could this be the issue? also while i'm driving at normal rpm the pressure is normal but when it idles it drops. any info is greatly apreciated.the motor is a 306 dss and the pump came with it so i guess its stock.

stock gauge? if so dont trust it, get a mechanical gauge

before u continue to drive get a auto meter mechanical gauge 35 dollars is good insurance on a new motor
