Default fuel pressure

so im checking my fuel pressure as we speek ( getting the laptop dirty) and it's reading about 30...i know its supposed to be around 39-40....could this be why my car is hesitating after 2000rpms???? also when i hit the drain buttom on the gauge there is air bupples...whats goin on? thanks for all your input guys

Well the lack of pressure could def be causing the problem. As for the air bubbles, w/ the car running, get something for the fuel to spill into and hold the button open for 10 seconds or so. It should be a solid stream of fuel. If not, the pump could be on it's way out.

should be about 34 at idle w/ vac on

as soon as you give gas, it will start to rise to about 38-40 and wot or the vac line off it will go to 42 psi

i thought the pressure was supposed be 39-40 w/ the vac line off the regulator, but read 30-32 w/ that line on?

thanks pro.....i was holding it for about 4 min and still air bubbles.....think i need a new pump? if so what should i get? motor only has a few basic bolt ons

i didn't take any vac lines off i just screwed the gauge onto the fitting on the metal fuel line to fuel rail on passanger side behind the ALT
