Default gears

hi all im building me a stang it has a 5.0 bored 30 over all edlbrock cam and intake and carb it has a t5 5speed tran with the 295 gear set it still have the stock rear end out of an 87 4cyl i was want to know what would be the best gear for the rear end 3.45,3.73,410,4.56 please let me know thanks heath

+1 on 3.73 for 5psd, although i have 4.10 w/5spd

Its a bit steep, but i like it. I'm not too sure how its gonna be after this HCI, but we'll find out. I'm kindof think i'm gonna have a very short 1st, and want to switch to 3.73's

blackcrow your best bet would be to find a 8.8 rearend instead of that junky 7.5, then worry about the gears.

The best gears for a 5spd street/strip would be 3.73's all the way but ya, i would get rid of that 4cyl axle and put an 8.8 in it with a locker then 3.73's
