Hey guys I have a 88 stang gt(look at sig)...and I found the cobra emblems in the glove box because the guy before us painted it but didn't put them back on...so my question is how can I tell if it is a cobra? is there any difference in power or anything else? thanks

its not a cobra. only cobras was made in 93. its just a regular gt, no cobra.

lol oh ok thanks....yea i didn't know...just cuz my dad got the emblems fromt he glove box of the cobra symbol so i was jsut wondering...thanks

Did the 1988 Cobra GTs come with a Cobra emblem or did they just use the standard GT tags? Even though I live in Maine, I've never seen one so I'm not sure what they had on them.

It had a cobra emblem on the fenders and on front bumper.

If it was a Cobra it would have a cobra upper/lower intake manifold, 24lb injectors, cobra rims, cobra rear bumper, cobra front bumper, cobra tailights, etc. and yes they have more hp/tq than a stock GT

If that's the case, then there's a chance that his car is a Cobra GT. Like I said, I've never seen one though, but it is a possibility, given the year (1988.)

Anybody can buy Cobra emblems online or at a dealer and stick them on anything.

^...Yea I put one on my dash where the running pony use to be. Other people who ride with me that know nothing always think its a Cobra, silly people.

All Fox-bodied (1993 was only year) Cobras begin with 1FACP42D as their VIN.
