Engine Swaps

RE: Engine Swaps
Not that I'm against mod motors or anything but with all the money I'd think it would take to stuff a mod in a fox as well as an applicible tranny, drive shaft, motor mounts, tranny mount and crossmember, wiring harness, EEC-V, and with what was suggested with 03/04 cobra motor all the necessary mods to setup the chassis and drive line for its new found power and possible addition to come, you could easily stroke and poke what ya got and bottle feed it with some drag radials and walk the "mighty" LS1. Though I haven't done it much beating an LS1 is not impossible and frankly easier then you may think. Money well spent in the right places and some traction will have you doing just that over and over with some good driving skills. I feel the danger and overall sense of futility of challenging the LS1 is it's potential of great power for small change. H/C/I and a quick tune bam 5 hundo horses and easily I might add. Car Craft did and article of 500hp engines and they did just that. That's the only advantage I see to owning an LS1 powered car.

first off the there are some differences betwen the mark VII and the cobra and they would be the cams, just like the 2000 cobra R motor and the 2001 navigator motor, they are both 5.4 dohc but hte nav has really detuned cams and among other things like an intake. But stick with pushrod, b/c mod motors if you have the money are great tunable motors, but u need a lot of money to do so. Just drop a 351 in ur fox and work that, now ur at the same displacement of an LS1.
