ok. this is gonna be long, so brace yourself everybody.

my current engine has 143k miles on it. im thinkin about gettin a new block and a Speed-Pro rebuild kit from Summit to make it a 306. get that setup and switch over my heads, intake, etc. then sell the current engine. it runs good, just, i dont wanna chance it goin to va beach for 11 months. now. if i do this, ill be running stock heads and intake. i know it wont be at its full potential, but, it will hold me off for at least a year. ive had this one for a year, and ive abused the hell out of it, yet, i take care of it(routine maintenance, oil change, plugs, etc). so, other than not being at its full potential, would a 306 run ok with stock heads. if i do do the 306, would i need bigger injectors or would the 19lb work fine ? even if i just get a standard rebuild kit, im gonna get the c&l 73mm maf and 65mm tb to go with my cai.

now, on to the transmission. its been shifting sh!tty lately. real notchy, coming out of gear(although i think thats me and not engaging it all the way). so, im also thinking about buying a new tremec t-5 and putting a Pro 5.0 shifter on to run thru the gears with. now, if i do this, im doing EVERYTHING at one time. im basically just worried about the engine setup and if itll run right. but, like i said, im gonna be running stock heads and manifold, and just a flowmaster cat-back. i wanna hear you opinions/advice. Roundman, MD, VFAST, JDan. any of you, id like to know what you think. criticism, or agreement. dont matter. i just need to know within the next 2/3wks so i can order the stuff and get it done. so, thanks and sorry for the length of it.
