I think any 87-93 notch would all weigh about the same, but i'd go with an 89-92 because they have forged pistons, which are better IMO.

a 4-eye notch would deffinatley be the lightest. Nut if you are going to gut it any notch would probably about the same.

ok ill have to look so a notch then cheap, maybe find one on ebay or something. Im probably not going to even use the engine so it doesn't matter if it runs. Has anyone ever weighed their notch? Or are there for records of the actual curb weights of the cars?

There are records of the curb weight, I'm planning on weighing mine. Hoping (with me in the car) that its less than 3000 still..

it depends on options and trans first of all, curb weight is not accurate reflection of thre cars weight, that is w/ no fluids whatsover

no mustang EVER weighed under 3000 lbs i can guarantee that.

my '89 5-speed notch w/ 1/4 tank and me in it was 3250 (i weigh about 140) it was w/ skinnies and convo pro's , also was all manual optioned car, ac and smog deleted , the rest full weight, nothing else gutted from it.

aod is about 100-150 lbs more than a 5-speed

and where do you live ? i know where there is a roller notch for sale for $1250

complete ex-texas patrol car, needs motor and trans , could use paint , rustfree

detroit area

He's right. They were all about the same. Different sites/magazines have weights varying from 2700-3100lbs, but in reality their about the same. The 2700 lb ones are dry weight without a spare tire, just completely empty. the 3100 lb ones are with a full tank and spare tire etc.
