Question about SN95 spindle setup

RE: Question about SN95 spindle setup
Alright LOL, that was quick- I know, but I just thought of another one. I think I might have sprayed brake parts cleaner (Brakekleen) inside of the actual hub assembly at one point trying to get the rest of whatever was in there out. You think that could have damaged the seals on the bearings?
Alright- just to ask... checking the play is how to check for a broken bearing-
but is there a way to check if the lube in there is bad before it's actually installed on the car? During any movement, should the bearing feel ultra-smooth or can I expect to feel a little bit of a "pebbly" feel and have it still be in good shape?
Last one for now

RE: Question about SN95 spindle setup
man i dunno....its diffrent when the bearing is heated up and its got the weight of the car on it...mine felt kind of in between pebbly and ultra smooth. if you sprayed brake cleaner in their i would say thats a MAJOR problem

RE: Question about SN95 spindle setup
BTW if the bearing wsa broken you would hear a nasty noise....you are checking the wear of the bearing. if you can move the tire side to side its steering component wear not bearing wear...bearing wear is up and down.

RE: Question about SN95 spindle setup
Well, I meant up and down lol, my mistake. I never attached the hub to the car yet... and it's in the process of being put together. I just don't know what to do b/c I've never really had a problem like this before.
You think I could have destroyed the seals with the parts cleaner? Any way you can think of to check that?
I'm just trying to figure out if I can use these damn things still... they're so expensive and I'm in the red now as far as my bank account goes.
