Default thoughts on a 351 windsor....

I just got my hands on a 351 windsor and I'm contemplating swapping out my 5.0. From my 87 and dropping the windsor in. Obviously I'm going to rebuild the motor but besides the bigger displacement what other advantages can I see coming from this swap? And is it even worth it. Any input would be great. ( and btw its not a cleveland, a handful of people have asked me that already )

Horse Power is its advatages. Just doing H/C/I on a 351 will push (estimating) 340+ to the rear. If I'm wrong someone can correct me. Gets you in the 11's if you have traction on N/A and it's cheaper then going 331 or 347 stroker. Cause you can only push that 302 stock block like to 450HP when it's a ticking time bomb and then you have to get a dart block. 351 offers strokers as well. Can take the same abuse as 302's.
Is it worth it?? I think it is!! Rbarn, a member just finished doing his swap he had awsome numbers. He's the reason I think I'm going that route too. If you decide to go that direction good luck!

when you rebuild it, stroke it to 418 and throw a 100shot on it. run lows tens with no problems....assuming the tranny and rear can take the power and you have suspension to put the power down

351 has stronger block and crank
has more rotating mass and weighs more than 302
but is much stronger in higher hp's

Go for it
