built aod's r just as good as a t-5's. it depends on the driver. i dont know who told u they were "junkers" but ive been told the same thing b4.

well is it putting out any power at all? if its anythign but stock i say go for better than a t5, and if its stock u could use a t5... and hope for the best... my cars stock and it killed a t5 by 75k......i say go w. a better manual, if u can. but eitehr way, swap to a manual, and yes itll give u a good gain...

+1 on not putting in a stock t-5 if he's gonna be putting some more power through it anytime soon

stock form t-5 is good..aod can handle 300hp depending on shape of tranny..mine did 4yrs...but a lil moding and a aod is way better...can handle ,ore power and with right stall will make as much hp tp wheels,...

Go for the T-5!! It is a no brainer espicially if you like to kick down race or just pick a geat at any time. The clutch assembly inside the car was the hardest thing to do, other than that is wasn't that bad.
