Default Easiest way/cheapest for 400 streetable Hp?

Realising Ill never have the cash to build a full out racecar I just want to build a nice healthy street car to cruise arround with my girl and have a good time.. I would like to atleast get 400rwhp. I had a built turbo integra with 400hp/300tq to the wheels and I love the way it felt. I want that feeling again but with something that will actually hook traction, And not cost me a fortune to build.

Im seeking direction here. What I have to start with here Is a stock 88 gt with an AOD and the 3.27 rear I have the maf conversion as my only mod so far.
Being I will only make it to the track seldomly for fun I have Desided to ditch the sludgebox stock aod for a t5 swap.

I think nitrous appears to be the cheapest way here, But I dont necessairly like it due to the fact your only as good as your bottles capacity. I still want to have some good power even if I was out of nitrous. With this said heres a few questions for you guys.

Possible combos these all "appear" to be relitively in my budget range for a fun streetcar.

How much power would a NA 347 stroker with the trickflow top end kit Produce?
How about stock bottom end with the trickflow top end kit?
Could I get away with shooting nitrous on this bottom end safely with the trickflow top end kit?
Stock bottom end with ported stock heads maybe score some budget gt40s, Upgraded intake and a supercharger?

One last option is I have a spare 351 at my house, doing a built 351 swap, though I think this would be the most expensive.

I know these are several setups but Ive never really seen a thread covering all these together. Im looking for direction for my project.

351 all the way.

1. 351W in stock form is MUCH stronger, stronger crank, rods, block.

I went 351W with stock crank, stock rods, forged pistons and ARP bolts and studs
slap on a pair of AFR 185's or Canfield 195's and a good healthy cam and you're damn close.

I made 475hp on engine dyno with listed mods below ...... should see 370-390rwhp ... all motor.

slap a 100-150 shot of nitrous on there for race day and you're done.

351W block will handle the power much better too.

honestly, you are going to need a combination of these possible setups. A supercharger on a stock motor won't get you 400, the built 351 will be most expensive and a stoker with trick flow heads and intake will have you under the 400hp mark. I say, get some gt-40p heads from an explorer, a e303 cam, an intake of your choice (really won't matter considering your goals, just get a cobra or better; they show there power capability in the advertisements) and a used supercharger. There will be a lot of time and a bit of fabrication involved but if you put the turbo on your old honda, this shouldn't be that complicated for you.

Reality Check- Power means nothing. Literally, it means nothing. Power is a derivative of torque (HP = torque x RPM / 5250). Speed, which is what everyone wants, is a balance of torque, traction, gearing and weight. That is why your 400hp integra wouldn't do 13, was only good for roll races and would get it's *** kicked at the track by cars with 100 less hp. It is also why 80hp motorcycles can run 10's. I have less than 300 hp and should be able to sqeeze out 12's because of TIRES and suspension. You want a fast car? Make it lighter, give it better tires and put money into the suspension. If all you want is the g's of a car with *****, do whatever you have to do to force more air and fuel into the engine within your means (used s/c, nitrous, et cetera). Beware of the consequences

how much is the actuall swap going to cost of for the 351-- KEPPING its efi. So I guess that means, Intake manifolds, swap headers, swap pan, distributor , swap brackets. In addition to the buildup on my 351.

The motor is just sitting there doing nothing in a 84 bronco i dont want anymore... I wonder if the 9" is able to be used i know its a wide truck too...

i think the 351 would be cheaper, concidering you already have the motor... get that, a top end kit(seems you like trickflow... good choice) and the nessacary shyt to put it in your car... o and dont use a t5 trans... use a tko... for your own sake.... t5s can barley handle stock power, let alone 400hp... and your old car was 400hp/300tq? well w. 400hp outa a stang, expect a helluva lot more torque then before...

Your 8.8" rearend is fine, that 9 will only handle a bit more.

I say you put that 351 in there, put on some decent heads, cam, and a good flowing intake, which you can get all for pretty cheap if you shop wisely. Then throw on a big shot of spray or a small SC, you should be there or close. BUt that power isnt gonna do anything for you if you dont have a suspension. So you might wanna squeeze a suspension into your budget.
