casting # pass. side under the head before the trans. LETTER, NUMBER, LETTER, LETTER. THE FIRST LETTER IS THE 10TH PLACE OF THE YEAR D=70 E=80 F=90, THE NUMBER IS THE ONES PLACE OF THE YEAR, EXAMPLE D3VE IS A 1973 CASTING, THE OTHE RTWO LTERS ARE FO PLANT ID.

pull the motor, that is the only place the casting # is for the block, try putting a piece of paper over it and rubbing it with a crayon, like when you were a kid with a quarter.

You can also look at the top of the block at the back of the intake manifold there will be a 8 letter and number combination which would be the last 8 digits of the vin# of the car it came out of the letter in the begining of the combination will be the year of it
A=1980
B=1981
C=1982
D=1983
E=1984
F=1985
G=1986
H=1987
AND SO ON
I also tried to send to pics to help guide you to find it but my intake is off the engine
GOOD LUCK
