Default Test drove a 95 GT today

One of my neighbors just bought a 95 GT with 32000 original miles today and brought it over to my house insisting that I check it out and take it for a drive. The car is in almost mint condition and has a nice black on black color scheme and it is all stock except for exhaust and a k&n. I hate to say it being a mustang owner myself but that thing is a turd! Slow would be an understatement, not to mention its all bubbly and curvy. Man Ford realy went in the wrong direction with the mustang from 94-98! I didnt tell him what I honestly thought about the car cause I didnt want to be rude. He thinks its the fastest car in the world and even jokingly said to me "no I wont trade you". I always heard those early sn95 cars were slow but damn, I've driven trucks faster than that. I suppose he could put a few grand in it to make it faster but he'll still be stuck with that hideous curvy tank *** body. I'm soooooo glad I bought a fox.

yea... e7te heads, stock sn-95 intake and 3.08 gears will make ANY car slow... especially at 10° base timing

eh... im just sick of all the fox owners talking $hit about the SN-95. But i do have to admit... 94-98 gt's are slow as hell. I raced a friend of mine (decent driver) and his 94gt. He has full exhaust, cai, 90mm maf, 70mmtb, pro products typhoon intake, 15° timing, AND 3.73 gears.

He cut a 1.9s 60' and turned an et of 14.25 @ 97mph

MY CAR.. has full exhaust, cai, 70mm tb, afpr, udp's, and 15° timing. (yes, stock cobra motor, trans and gears) and I pulled a 14.1 @ 100.5mph on a 2.34s 60'
I'm running on 3.08 gears... so that just goes to show you how big of a difference there is between a gt-40 headed motor and a e7te headed motor.

BUT.... when i was stock + off road x pipe.. i raced a 1989 lx notch with full exhaust, MT E/T streets (bias ply), 4.10 gears and AOD with a 2800 stall, and i was only 2 cars behind

Well, in defense of the early sn95 cars that I previously bashed, I do like the way they look with the wing removed, some dish wheels in the back, and lowered a bit. There is one in my town set up that way and its nice. But as far as being slow are you guys saying that has more to do with crappy heads than extra weight? Does anyone know how much a 95 gt weighs?

5.0's from 87-94 had the e7 heads so they all had crappy heads.

curb weight... 3365lbs

and it has to do with the heads AND the intake... the intake is most of the problem.. all gt's/lx's suffer from the ****ty heads (87-95 that is...)
