RE: New stang, what parts?
Well a god place to start would be looking into a MAF conversion, then maybe a nice HCI setup, with some supporting mods. That willl give you some nice power right there

RE: New stang, what parts?
Yeah do what he said and then if you have enough left over, then open up your exhaust a little bit with a good mid pipe (if your state doesnt care about emissions then go with an offroad pipe), then get some good mufflers and headers. I hear good things about SLP loudmouth mufflers. And maybe get some underdrive pulleys, perferably aluminum so they dont slow down accessory speed.

RE: New stang, what parts?
Heads/Cam/Intake = HCI.. If there are a lot of miles on the engine, you should look into a rebuild first. I bought mine with 140k miles on it. All I pretty much want to do is swap easy bolt ons. Headers, h-pipe, exhaust, intake and what not... easy mods make a good bit of power with these engines.

RE: New stang, what parts?
my bad on the typo, things actually an 89, so I don't have to do the swap.
Which cam, headers, and exhaust would you all suggest?
And on the heads, my dad and I have been planning on porting and polishing the stockers, as that is what he did in his stang, but do you think I should just swap them?

RE: New stang, what parts?
3 grand is a nice little nestegg just for mods. Gears, full exhaust (headers to tailpipe), AFR 165 heads, Trick Flow Stage 2 cam, GT40 or trick flow intake, 24 # injectors, 70MM throttle body, and larger mass air meter. Done, and you will crap your pants when you hit the gas ;-)

the stock heads, even ported, aren't all that fabulous. if your looking for good power, buy aftermarket. look into AFR.

all right then, that's helpful.
I guess I also want to clarify my goals for the car a bit.
I want to build it to at least be in the low 11's, preferably in the 10's.
No worries about daily drivability, as it will be a weekend/track car only.
