i kno many people have asked this question, but i never got a real answer, do the trick flow twisted wedge heads work on the 1986 mustang motor or not

+1, i called the ford racing tech line and they said thereis NO aftermarket head made today by anybody outthere that will just bolt onto a stock 86 short block due to the true flat top piston. if you want the ford racing tech line# i can give it to you so you can call them yourself if you want to.

no they arent, in 86 to improve emissions ford used a E6 head with shroded valves.. horrible horrible head. wont flow over 4500 rpm.. they actually had to sink the valves further into the head so they would not contact the piston.. and.. 86 was the only year for them and the true flat top pistons. in 87 they went to the not much better e7 head and flat tops with valve reliefs cut into them.

So no problems finding heads for the 88? Kinda' wondering because that covers a lot of year models, and everyone on here is always buying heads. So I am thinking, they all just bought heads that will bend their valves.
