Default T5 bearing retainer question

Ok..I need a bearing retainer for my t5 but not sure what kind I need...The numbers on it are 13-52-027-919..and someone told me the ones ending in 919 are v8's..I tried one from a 88 t5 but didnt work...Mine is a 84, People told me a 88 would fit an 84, but in this case it didnt..so is this true? what kind of retainer do i need?

the retainer should all be the same unless it's a 94-95

Remember to look at the tag attached to the tail stock bolt (4 total). That tag will have the correct number not the number molded into the side of the shifter housing area.

get a steel bearing retainer, the aluminum ones get chewed up easy.

+1 steel makes the clutch release so much more consistant
