Default Battery Relocation

Im building a drag car for under 1000 bucks. Im trying to do EVERY free or cheap mod I can do. I was thinking of relocating the battery to the trunk. Do I need anything special to do this?

Im guessing I would only need wires, and something to hold the battery down. Anything else?

I think that track requirements say it has to be in a vented enclosed box

1good luck on your goal of less than $1000, it wont happen, well it might happen, but it wont be fast.

it costs money to go fast.

with $1000 you could get a nitrous kit and some sticky tires.

your suspension wont handle it

Well...I guess I should have explained it more.

Im starting with a mildly built motor (5.0, bored .60 over, cam, 4 barrel)

I have a set of tires already

and I get most things at least 20% off

So If I was paying full price for everything, and starting from scratch...it would be well over 1000

Im thinking of doing headers, Losing AC and PS, maybe a shot of nitrous, lots of weight reduction, drag springs, and gt40 heads if I have enough

no way for under a grand you are going to make it a "drag" car! good luck though, when you get it finished post some pics and track slips!

You can get a battery box from autozone or even on summitracing for like $25 bucks.
