August '06 issue of muscle mustangs and fast fords with them doing there first test on the '07 GT500. pg. 84 they say, and i quote.."Test-shoe Evan Smith, alias the 'T-5 bandit,' flew in for this mission, and with a cooking hot car clicked off a 12.74@ 111mph(it had just made 5 launches and 3 consecutive passes without a cooldown). More than acceptable for some folks, better then other magazines will ever achieve, but we were just getting started. On the next pass, he slipped the clutch and the 60-foot time was 2.14. He powershifted second and spun the tires all the way to third gear. Going through the traps in third resulted in a 12.42@115.70mph. Long time readers will recall that in our July '02 issue, we went 12.67@110mph in our first 03 Cobra drag test, so we were already ahead of the game."


they then go on to state... " There was some frustration in Evan's voice. ' I'm going through the lights in third gear,' he reported. 'You're giving up 3-tenths minimum. The first thing i would do is put in 4.10s or 4.30s. I can feel this is an 11-second car with gears, even on stock tires. It's a very difficult car to launch."


the very next paragraph...." He decided powershifting second was the only way to go. And the next run bore this out, a 12.257@117.18mph (2.11 60-foot), with him pedaling it like John Force in second. He also shifted into 4th on this run."


The last paragraph... " Either way, it's a fantastic automobile, one worthy of the Shelby name, one that will go 10's in the quarter-mile with minimal bolt-ons. Gotta love that."

so.. all that stated.. the 07 GT500 is the fastest stock mustang ever produced.[sm=closed.gif]

my dad just left the dyno, and a bone stock 07 gt 500 put down 502 to the wheels

+1, the 427 s/c cobra is much faster but, he asked what the fastest production mustang was.
