I dont think i understand, so if you get afr heads you will go with another stock block and stock cam? Or if you go with TF heads you will be using your exiting block w/ aftermarket cam? In that case i vote TF but i am probably not getting it

since i just posted in your last thread about the email you got from trickflow did you email them back and ask what cam they would recomend to use with your factory 86 short block? i would do that first.. i'm not sure you will be able to run a"big" cam due to the piston to valve clearence issue.

i was thinkin of a low 500 lift cam with a decent duration, my goal now is that i want 12.6 to beat my friends ls1 and then i will be happy

nmeril, what i wanted to do was
1) got afr with a 89 block and a decent size cam
or
2) now that i kno trick flow can fit go with trick flow twisted wedge heads, and that same decent size cam with track heat intake

I would stick with the trickflow heads. You can always get them ported and polished before you put them on.

not too sure. Somebody else could answer that question. I was going off of the fact that swapping the motors wouldn't be worth what you could gain with the afr heads.
