Default idle problems

alright i'm a camaro guy thats new to mustangs. i got an 88 mustang hatch. it was a 4 cyl but it has a 5.0 conversion done. a very professional job too, not backyard wires all over the place job. the car starts right up but it doesn't idle smooth. it jumps while cold and when the car warms up it dies. it seems to run smooth when you rev it tho. i haven't drivin it on the road yet due to a broken fuel pump relay that i just jumped to get her running for now. any ideas what could be causing it to idle like crap when cold and when warmed up wont idle?

I think it is in the passenger side kick panel, some one jump in here if I am wrong.

well i replaced the relay and it turns out that wasn't the problem...one of the wires on the relay harness came out so i hooked it back up and the pump returned to its normal working status. next problem. the car still wont idle. it ran like **** so i did a tune up to it and it has definetly helped...it doesn't miss nearly as much but it does miss slightly...and it misses when the engine is slowing down the car. and it still wont idle. i'm gonna try the idler control valve for the idle problem but does a vacuum leak sound like it could be the culprit for the remaining misses? it has been sitting for about 2 years and only really started up and drivin today...maybe the lines are all cracked and falling apart

vacuum wouldn't make it misfire, but it would make it run lean. determine what its really doing, then check ignition parts.

try cleaning the IAC. I had similiar idling problems and just cleaning it out did wonders.
