Default Fuel Pumps

Okay guys got a stupid question that has probably been answered a hundred times. And if it really is a retarded question, go easy on me because i know nothing about fuel systems. Okay, are fuel pumps universal? because my friend was going to turbo his cavalier but decided not to so now he has this 255 lph fuel pump layin around.
