Default manifold enough space?

Im sure this question has been answered before but i couldnt find it using search. I plan on getting a trickflow street intake manifold. I forgot where but i heard it doesnt fit under the stock hood of a 94-95 model because of the spacer you need. Is this true? or will it fit just fine under my hood

if you use a 3/8" spacer it will. a 1" spacer is a no go. you don't need the spacer in either case.

^Thats not really what gives the most benifit. Its the phenolic material that does not allow the heat from the block to transfer as readily to the upper intake thus heating the incoming air. not much gain at all but worth the 30-40 bucks just to have one more mod on your list.

I agree with philthy89fifty....classic screen name anyway I have a GT40 with a 1" spacer and the extra space this creates means a litle more air will enter the engine. And yes the spacer does a great job in lessening the heat transer to the upper manifold. Every little bit adds up.[sm=gears.gif]

Part of why a spacer works is because there is more volume in the intake. And when the motor goes to suck it in. There is more air in the larger volume intake to suck in. Sort of a trick. But I think the spacer is also for when you have tall valve covers. So that intake will clear the valve covers.

I used one mostly for space cause these damn taller valve covers. But it helps with heat transfer for sure, I can run my car all day and I can touch my intake with my hand without singing it. Never could with my old intake

Nice, intake spacer is for valve cover clearance, intake air volume and temperature. Didn't know about the temp [&:], yahtzee![8D]
