I'm looking to buy a new engine soon and wanted to know how many of you guys are running a DSS engine. One thing I need to know is what is the difference in Bullet/pro bullet? I am going to run a paxton novi 2000 (Centrifugal), Also looking to get 600-700hp. Any advice woud be helpful. BTW Its for a 92 gt.

your not going to make that power on a DSS motor, there just stock blocks that they say are beefed up

^ dss hater. every thread about dss you put in your negative 2 cents.the bullet is basically a stock block the pro bullet has a better block with a windage tray and main support system included i think it's the level 10 block you get with the pro bullet but with the power your looking at your gonna want a level 20 or a dart block.

IMO yes, to make 600-700 horse you'll need a stronger block, like the FMS R block, or a Dart block

no matter what level it may be its still a stock block which is the weak point, just because they have a huge add in every mustang magazine people think DSS is the best, which they are not

True about he week point thats why I didn't just put a huge blower on my stock motor. So what kinda power would I make with a Pro bullit 347 with AFR 205's, any guess? 700 is probably a little over kill. I just want to be satisfied with it since its taking long to build.

i have two friends who are brothers and both have dss short blocks, one is the 347 w/ girdle and he has gt40 ported heads, gt40/upper lower intake and is putting 8-9 lbs of boost to it via vortech s trim, i'm not sure what the dyno numbers are but it runs great... jmo, but i know that his upper limit is around 500 rwhp... his brother is running a 306 dss with trickflow h/c/i, boost and nitrious, i cant remember the exact #'s and details as i'v eonly seen the car once, but i'm told it'll run low 11's and high 10's at best... so i dunno i've been told dss is a great streetable value block worthy to 500rwhp with a good tune, and for beyond you gotta spend the cash on a dart, but i'm no engine builder so its up to you.... even a dss level 20 is a stock block with machine work. i've never heard of any bad things about dss for people running within it's limits...but if you're looking to make that power you'll need an aftermarket 302 block or a 351
