no longer can i praise the stock block
just like easton and his powerdyne, i can no longer praise a part i once believed it. i just blew my stock botom end. we dont think the block crank but the rotating assembly is done. the car drove me 7 miles in traffic and stop and go lights after the incedent so its not to bad. #4 and #8 are reading 85psi while one of the cylinders reads 130 and the rest are 155-170psi. probably going to keep this block, go 30 over, my friend wants to machine the block to make it a 4 bolt main, rebalance it and do every type of machine work possible. i want a dart 331 but dont want to spend the money so we will see whats up. wish me luck guys im so stressed right now cause thats my only car

even maching the block to make it a 4 bolt main, wouldnt it still split down the lifter valley?

Make sure you look all over that block. My buddy's car did something similar to that, he sent it out to get bored and had the crank stroked, only to find out after the block was being worked on it had a big *** crack in it. Right by the mains on the inside.

yes, the main cap area isnt thick enough for a 4 bolt to work.
