Default Headers Question

I recenty purchased a 1990 Mustang LX 5spd with 90k on it, so far the only engine modifications on it are pulleys and cold air intake. My question is, I am going to get some headers and mid-pipe but I dont know whether I should go long tubes or shortys with the power it makes now which isn't much. But then again when I do start to make power I will be better off with the LT's. Any opinions on which way I should go?

Personally, go with ceramic coated equal length shorties (BBK), and an Off Road H or X pipe (which ever sound you prefer). Reason being is the LT's are going to affect your low end torque, and the shorties will flow effectively up to 400-450 rwhp, so you still have a lot of room to grow! 1 5/8" pipe to 2 1/2" collector. Your going to get mixed results on this, ultimately it's what YOU want. By the way love the Sonic Blue color!

LT's are a pita....hard on starters as well.... you need a full 2.5" exhaust...shorties with a dr. gas x pipe or a pro chamber

Personally I am going with LT's because I want to have them later in my project. I believe the loss of low end torque will be small. Definately go with an off road H/X pipe, either one you want. Mufflers are up to you.

Yes, I do

MAC LongTubes (1 5/8 pri, 2 1/2 co.) and a MAC Pro-Chamber H Pipe (o/r 2.5"), for AUTO only though. PITA to install like all other longtubes but sounds good. Im really looking for local pickup though.
