unless your going to be in the 500hp I would bother with the headaches

Personally I am going with LT's because I want to have them later in my project. I believe the loss of low end torque will be small. Definately go with an off road H/X pipe, either one you want. Mufflers are up to you.
Way down the road it looks like a KB blower with AFR heads and a rebuilt bottom end. I would like to see the upper part of 450whp. Plus the Longtubes do sound good.

I have BBK long tubes and I don't have any more trouble working on anything than I did with equal length shorties. I am a fan of long tubes but one thing they do is cause idle problems. The O2 sensors are further away from the engine and they don't get warm enough to take a good reading. I do feel a difference in upper rpm power without noticing a loss down low. Yeah they do sound good.

I've heard the BBK Ceramic equal length headers are hard to install, is this true? Also, about how much to you gain by going with equal length headers?

The equal lengths are supposedly a little bit harder to install. The HP gain is very minimal between equals and unequals. Only a few HP difference. BTW, if you do a search you could of find this information very easily.

We're running BBK ceramic L/Ts and off-road H-pipe and It works great. We don't have a power adder (or even heads) and I didn't notice any power lose. Also don't have any idle problems and they weren't hard to install once we figured out how.

Installation difficulty will vary between company's with long tube headers.
