Default quarter windows question

i'm looking into buying a 1982 mustang with a 351w for 900$ lol anyways if i can get it my goal is to work all winter and fix it up and just keep driving my 86 for winter. now my question is, is it possible to swap a quater window from a 87-93 onto a 82? i'm not really sure i like the thing on the back of the window from my 86. i think the basically all window thing. would it be possible to switch it up and how hard would it be?

yes its possible but then the rest of the trim around the door doesnt match so you might as well swap that too

they both have the same mounting points and it looks clean with the newer ones installed. IMO.

yea, you can do it. i put the newer quarter windows on my 85 Gt and they will line up nicely. the trim that they are talking about it the (chrome) or window trim that follows from the front window to the quarter windows. what you will have to do is either replace ti with a different trim or you can cut the trim. you can either cut it whie its ont he car (be careful) or remove the trim and cut it to line right up, look into it first, there will be a slight gap created and to fill it you can use silicone if you want of just make sure the seals are good and the gap will be covered. when you put in the new windows you will also need to have a washer/ bracket set up to put them on. (youll see when the old ones are off) its really simple, i did the whole thing by myself in just an hour or two. i reccommend doing it on a hot day so the sealant will be soft so you can easily remove the old windows. good luck.

oh i think i see what i mean, nothing to do with the door but the little piece just above the door? on the 86 it runs up and over the wuater window, and on the 87-93 it runs just the the end of the door? i don't that would be supper hard to do.
