Transmission
Well, I was driving down the road, shifted from 1st, 2nd, into 3rd and BAM Tranny blew.. Me and my dad pushed it 2 miles back to our house.
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do.. T-5's are only rated for 250+ and I'm around 350.
The cheapest tranny I saw was $1100 for a brand new T-5...
But Not really sure what I'm going to do now, plus the fact my oil pressure is dropping down to 25 after 1 hour of driving...
Let me ask you guys a question, What's normal oil pressure supposed to stay at? And if you strip the motor, replace the bearings, don't you have to turn the crank also, otherwise all that was done is pointless?
I think I got screwed once again with my car.

i can't help ya with the motor but a t-5 is rated to 300-350 ft lbs. and alot of the time last farther then yours made it... a t-5 should handle your car and shouldn't have any problems... let me ask you this wher you "floating gears"? or where you taking it easy???

Check your oil sending unit plug. It is the wire that is connected to your oil pan on the driver side. I cannot remember the technical name....(too much beer). Make sure that it is secure and connected correctly. I have read the the oil guage on the 5.0 is not very accurate.
If you are going to strip the motor down, replace the bearings and turn the crank............better safe then sorry.
Remember how old your car is and remember the faithful years of beating it has taken............

t-5's aren't bad depending on what the car is used for, but if your spending 1300 on a t-5 might as well step up and spend a lil more for a nicer tranny.
you plan on a motor that a powerglide is needed[&:] i wanna video
