I found a pair of edelbrock performer heads (not the rpm) for $695 without the rockers. They have 1500 miles on them. Intake port 1.90". How well do these perform? What gains will I see? Do you think this is a good deal?
Thanks
can I just throw on my current stock E6 or E7 rockers?
You can, if you get pedestal style heads which mine are, however you'd be better off to get roller rockers since you've got it all apart. Crane Cams sells a conversion kit to make it a 3/8 stud mount bolt for the rockers that fit those heads which is much better. If you're going to get the heads, for another 200 bux you can get crane cam energizer rockers, it'l ease up tension on your motor and give you more power. If you're running a big cam be careful on the ratio. 1.6 is safe for a big cam.
well I wouldnt honestly .. you never know what kind of life theyve had if you dont know where theyre coming from and you sure dont want them breaking on you while you're out.. you can do serious damage if that happens.... I would highly recommend getting new ones.. I know it's more money but there's just too many things that can go wrong. Its cool to buy stuff that dosen't have moving or rolling parts used, but Ive always believed in buying rockers and stuff new... Unless like I said you know where theyre coming from.
