Default i ran into a problem last night ordering a rebuild kit

last night i ordered a rebuild kit from a kinda local parts store and then while i was looking on the internet all of the ones i saw asked if it was ho or not. what is the diffrence between an ho and non ho, and what is the likely hood of the kit i bought working?

I believe the HO stands for High Output.

Can't tell you if it is giong to work or not.

Other than having different firing orders i dont know what else it would be. Pistons maybe? Dunno. Never really compared the two.

A rebuilt kit for your motor? Did you order a HO rebuilt kit? Im not exactally sure of the differences. Like stated above, I knew that the firing order was different but not sure of what else.

Checking a few books here. One states for 1982, "The resurrected 5.0L came with stouter internal components such as a double roller timing chain, and a higher lift cam."

Im pretty sure all gt's have the HO. )I might be wrong on that. But are you even sure if u are HO or not?

Not a question of what a HO cam in, just the difference in the non HO vs HO. The fireing order is in the cam. The compresion ratio can be changed by pistons, so you may want to look for something like that.

So let me get this streight the diffrence is the cam, so if i put an ho cam in a non ho block then it would be an ho or did i get that wrong?

Geraldine, it will 'become' an HO. i don't think Ford ever put non-H.O.'s in the Mustangs.....
