Default lots of TIRE questions

ok im gettin new tires sooner or later i have a 95 if u need to know that as well

Questiosn are:
i plan on driving it in the winter... on non-snowy days.... should i wait till spring to get new tires (keep in mind tread is getting pretty bad)
how big of a tire can u fit on a 17X9 rim... i wanted to get 275/40 all around... what do u all think
i like the bfg t/a kdw what do u all think of them.... its a street car and i drive in the rain so radial are a no go i think
what other brands are good besides bfg
were is a place to get good prices.. i looked on tirerack and bfg t/a kwd 275/40/17 were like 850ish for a set... thats a lot!!

driving in snow with no tread is going to be tough.. i suggest snow tires. As for spring the toyo tr-1 are a great dry/wet tire and are a little cheaper

BFG's are great tires... just dont try to drive in the snow on them.

I would recommend keeping your stock wheels and tossing a set of snow tires on them.

then take your new rims and get a nice set of tires.... if you want the BFG's, get em... like i said, they are great. I went with a cheap tire because i know how i am on my car... but in turn, i lost performance because they are a harder compound... which means they dont grip worth a damn.

Tires are not something to skimp out on... and yes, 275's will do nicely all the way around... but in my opinion, you cant beat the look of 275/40's in front and 315/35's in back

but adder will 315's fit on a 9in rim??? i thot they only fit on 10in or 10.5 w.e. they are... and i only have one good pair of rims... so yea snow tires are a no go... i dont drive in the snow tho... i drive in the winter but if/when we get snow i park it till it melts.... are hte bfg's goin to cost about 800ish no matter were i get then??... i hear there great for wet/dry and handle really well i just didnt know they were 200 bucks a piece... thats a lot!!

Unless you can find a friend that works at Discount Tire or something, they're pretty steep. Make friends w/ the guy a the counter...sometimes they'll cut you some slack on the price.

well my rents are members of sam's club... i think its a nation wide thing.... neways they got my mom's tires for her 04 toyota carmare installed and everything for like 500 bucks... and she gets some kinda warranty as long as she takes then in to get hte rotated on time... which they do for free and if so its like a gaurnutte so many miles on them or sumthing like that im not sure but i guess i need to get one of htem to take me ne there and check out prices otherwise its not goin to be pretty

and does ne1 know if a315 would fit on a 9 in tire... the just 03 cobras .... cuz i do like the wider tire in bak but i didnt think i had that option... but if i do ill think about goin 275 in front and 315 in bak... would 315 in bak help with traction as well?? i would guess yes becuz more surface area but i figured id ask

Just because you CAN doesnt mean you SHOULD... BFG recommends a 11-12" wheel for their 315/35/17
